“Why are you in my room?” Lily demanded.
With hands in his pockets, Tony gave her a tight-lipped grin. “Looking for you,” he answered.
“That doesn't explain why you're in my room.”
“I was going to leave you a note.”
Lily clenched her jaw, not believing one thing that came out of his mouth. She moved to the side and motioned for him to get out. Slamming the door, she glared at him with her arms crossed. “Well, here I am. What's so damn important?”
Her tone surprised him. “Someone is interested in buying the JB, but I must have misplaced the number.”
Lily could be feisty. She always spoke her mind and never held her tongue. After a brief pause, in a stern voice, she said, “Nobody has permission to be upstairs. I mean, nobody.”
Alarmed, he opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He scratched his chin and tried again. “My room is up here.”
“Well, it isn't anymore.” And with that, she whipped her long hair and pranced off, leaving his mouth to hit the floor.
He tried to smooth things over, but Lily would not change her mind, so he packed his belongings and moved to the bunkhouse. The other guys got a good laugh at the situation and loved the fact that he had been knocked down a peg or two. This humiliated Tony, and his anger only escalated with each passing day.
